Update on Boogey Man returning to WWE and what he was doing all this while

That’s right. He’s the red faced demon who wormed his way into your hearts. Now, after months of rumors, “The Boogeyman” Marty Wright joins ClubWWI.com to set the record straight and shoot down false rumors…in his first shoot interview…EVER!

http://www.kidzites.com/images/Boogey%20Man.jpgWith a career in World Wrestling Entertainment that many fans will never forget, Marty’s story doesn’t end there. In fact, it was just beginning. Hounded by speculation about his recent “disappearance,” Wright has plenty to talk about life after WWE, people who represented him, his view on WWE, TNA, and tons more including: The False Reports of His “Disappearance,” Why He Was MIA, Going To TNA, Creating The Boogeyman Gimmick, False Stories of His Worm Eating, Why Booker T Deserves Credit For Their WrestleMania Match, Being Busted For Lying About His Age At Tough Enough Try-Outs, WWE’s Goal For His Character, Why That Didn’t Work Out, Being a “Former Actor” When He Debuted, The Wrestler He Prays To Work With, Scaring a Kid To Teach Her a Lesson, Losing His Teeth, The Boogeyman Voice, Kurt Angle, Team 3D, Dusty Rhodes, Jimmy “Boogie Woogie Man” Valiant, and More

People have been clamoring for answers from Marty “Boogeyman” Wright ever since agent Scott Epstein sent out an email to websites explaining that he could not get in contact with him. Scott apologized for Wright’s “no-shows” and pleaded with him to be more professional in handling his bookings. During his ClubWWI.com shoot, James Guttman asked the former Boogeyman about this situation and the story was quite different than fans may have thought:

“Well, that whole story…I’m not gonna bury anyone. That’s not what this interview is all about. But Scott Epstein definitely buried me.”

James asks him about the confusion regarding bookings. Had Marty accepted and then disappeared? Wright explains to ClubWWI.com listeners:
http://www.wwechamp.net/design/photos/SmackDown-Boogeyman-004.jpg“I had spoke with Scott Epstein prior, at one point in time. OK? And told him I did not want to do anything in the month of October because there was a possibility – a slight possibility – but a chance that I might be going back to WWE for a Halloween special that month. That idea was brought to my attention so I wanted to leave the month of October open in case that does happen. That didn’t happen and Scott took it upon himself to make all these bookings – not once confirming with me those dates. And I had already told him I didn’t want to do anything for the month of October. So for all those people that he said that I committed to, I want to apologize for any inconvenience that Scott put you in, because I certainly didn’t agree to those particular date. It’s sad enough that my name had to be dragged through the dirt to raise another person’s image….I never once, and God is my witness, ever confirmed any dates that Scott said I was supposed to be at.”

Marty goes on to discuss life on the Indies, “agents,” the new character he would use on the Independent scene, not getting paid from Scott, and more.

One question that leads to is TNA. ClubWWI.com listeners have wondered it and fans across the world ask him. What about Total Nonstop Action? Could we see the worms make an appearance?

“TNA is another organization with many friends from WWE who have been in the business for a long time. Bubba and Devon – Team 3D. Kurt Angle. They even have Bobby Lashley over there at this point in time. Again., hats off to those guys. As far as me going to TNA, you can never really know what the future holds. But I can tell you this, you will see my face on that TV screen soon enough.”

He was The Boogeyman! And he’s comin’ to getcha! But you can get to him first…by logging on to ClubWWI.com right now for his first interview since leaving WWE!

Kurt Angle injured at TNA Turning Point 2009 PPV

Kurt Angle “threw out his back” last night at TNA’s Turning Point pay-per-view, according to TNA president Dixie Carter on Twitter.

The injury occured just minutes into Angle’s match with TNA newcomer Desmond Wolfe. Carter complemented Angle on “gutting out” the final 15 minutes of the 17-minute match against Wolfe in what she called a one of the best TNA matches of the year. Carter added that Angle “will not miss any action.” There were no other injures last night.

Kurt Angle is still scheduled to wrestle at tonight’s TNA iMPACT! tapings, which will air Thursday night on Spike. Angle will team with TNA Champion A.J. Styles against Desmond Wolfe and Daniels.

Important Update Concerning Rowdy Roddy Piper health concerns

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s daughter, Ariel Teal Toombs, wanted to let the fans know that her father is completely fine. In fact, he recently appeared at The Laugh Factory in Los Angeles and will be filming an independent film next month in Canada. And of course, he will be making his triumphant return to Madison Square Garden tonight as the special guest host of Monday Night Raw.
http://wfnx.com/blogs/sandbox/rowdy%20roddy%20piper.jpgRegarding my previous report concerning the wrestling legend’s health, I will explain the situation as it is not as cut and dry as it initally appeared.

Speculation regarding Mr. Piper’s health began circulating after Dave Meltzer reported in an issue of the Wrestling Observer that he he was forced to a pull out of a few previously scheduled late September indy bookings in Connecticut because he was “seriously ill.” He did not release further details.

Due to my reporting over the years, I have managed to gain contact with a number of people inside the wrestling business, so much so that it’s no longer a big deal. Hardly a week goes by where I don’t hear from at least one “name.” In this case, I started talking to a certain WWE wrestler off-and-on over the summer after he complemented my work one day and I eventually got him to open up on life in the oompany. While he wouldn’t give me any “scoops,” I played the listening ear to his vents on WWE and why they are making him look bad on television. At the time, I thought it was just talk, but considering how he has been treated in recent weeks, it’s really quite telling in hindsight.

He saw the report on Piper being “seriously ill” and contacted me to ask if I had heard that WWE was planning on running video tributes on him on a future episode of Raw because “he was said to be on his last days.” Suffice it to say, I was stunned. He assumed I knew beforehand because WWE’s creative plans get out so fast these days.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, I wasn’t too sure whether to run what I had been told or not. However, a shortwhile later, I discovered that Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com had seemingly implied during an audio report that week that Mr. Piper’s cancer had returned. He made the following remark during an audio show in early October:

“You guys all know what Roddy has fought in the past and I understand it’s not good news on that front.”

After finding that out (plus factoring in what the WWE wrestler and Meltzer had said), I made the decision to run the story considering that Johnson is perhaps the most trusted news reporter in wrestling as he’s rarely off the mark.

Following my post, Piper’s agent, Noelle Kim Retes, sent me a blunt e-mail chastising me. The e-mail contained a direct link to a “rumor killer” report from Mike Johnson denying my report – even though he had seemingly implied beforehand that Piper’s cancer had returned.

Regarding the WWE wrestler in question, it should be noted that he has worked with Piper on television in the past not to mention I believe he has personally known him for years. He also has a reputation for speaking his mind without fear of what the higher-ups in WWE may think. Even though the report proved to be inaccurate, I still do not believe he was lying to me, especially considering that he never gave me any “scoops” in the many times I talked to him. I do however feel he was going by a rumor that had gotten out of control based on people’s wild speculation of the severity of Mr. Piper’s health.

Nonetheless, I cannot express the magnitude of my sorrow. I was incredibly wrong to do what I did. I am deeply sorry for any grief I caused Mr. Piper, his many supporters, his family, and anyone else I may have upset.

I am sorry.

Kurt Angle’s attorney, Michael Santicola, spoke to Pittsburg’s WPXI TV on Sunday and said his client is innocent of charges of all the charges brought against him following his arresst on Saturday morning, including harassing his ex-girlfriend, TNA Knockout Rhaka Khan (real name Tranesh Biggers).

According to WPXI.com, Santicola says that Biggers was upset that Angle had recently ended their relationship and there was no “corroborating evidence” that Angle had abused her or was even aware of her being at that Starbucks when Angle was accused of stalking her. Santicola claims that Briggers was trying to continue to “involve herself” in Angle’s life.

Regarding to the charge of driving with a suspended license, Santicola noted that Angle was found innocent of DUI earlier this year and that his license was valid this past Saturday, pending some paperwork.

When asked about the charges of syringes and vials of Human Growth Hormone being found in Angle’s car, Santicola told WPXI, “I have spoken with his agent, it is under prescription, multiple people use it in his industry and it is not illegal.”

Angle has a scheduled hearing in Pennsylvania on Tuesday but it will likely be rescheduled as Angle will be in Orlando, Florida taping a future episode of TNA Impact.

Kurt Angle Admits To Steroid Use, WWE Suspension?
This week the Philadelphia Inquirer posted an interview with TNA star Kurt Angle. Angle spoke to the Inquirer’s David Hiltbrand about TNA’s upcoming Lockdown PPV on April 19th, his wrestling influences, his struggles with drug abuse and more. You can read the article at Philly.com. Some highlights:
TNA’s Tour Schedule: “It’s very grueling. There’s no time off. We don’t have an off-season. That’s why it’s so difficult on wrestlers. That’s why they break down physically. They try to rotate them in and out so nobody gets burned out. Except for me.”
Getting Older: “I’m getting too old for this. I’m 40 and I’ve got 32 years of wrestling, quote unquote, amateur and pro, under my belt.”
Getting Busted for Steroids: “Have I used steroids before? Yes, I have, after I broke my neck and lost three inches in this arm and 21/2 in the other from loss of circulation. But I paid the price, both financially – I got fined $125,000 – and reputation-wise. I was a pure athlete, an Olympic champion. And all of a sudden, I’m like Kurt Angle the cheater? It really sucked. You can test me right now. I’ll come up clean. But there was a time when I did it.”
